Susan Diane (Battles) Cabana

Susan Diane (Battles) Cabana passed away at her home in Wakefield, RI on August 4, 2020. She leaves her beloved husband of 50 years, Andre E. Cabana of Wakefield, RI, her son and daughter-in-law, Gregory M. Cabana and Leanna C. Rodriguez, of Miami Shores, FL, and her grandson, Christian Cabana Carter of Pittsburgh, PA. She was the daughter of the late Roger J. and Ruth W. (Carroll) Battles of Norwood, MA. She also leaves her sister, Joanne E Couture-Filipski and Roger J. Battles, Jr. (predeceased). Susan was born in Boston, MA and grew up in Norwood, MA. She graduated from Norwood High School in 1964. Susan had a 40 year career as an Executive Assistant at various companies. Her last employer of 23 years was Motorola, Inc. She retired in 2005. Susan was a nurturer and a lover of the human race in all its diversity. Susan loved the beach, opera, concerts, plays, art museums and travel. She was an avid knitter and loved spending time with her knitting friends in South Kingstown and Narragansett, RI. Susan was a courageous, positive person who looked on the bright side of life. She regretted not being able to live longer to travel and have more experiences with her husband, her son and his family, her much loved grandson and her friends who consistently loved and supported her through her difficult illness. Susan’s message to everyone is don’t grieve, don’t cry, just remember the good memories we had and the love we shared. Think of me when you feel a soft breeze, smell a peony, hear a Puccini opera, put on a hand knit sweater, see a beautiful piece of art or hear a wave crashing on the shoreline.
