Steven J. Varhol

Steven Joseph Varhol, 86, of Charlestown, RI passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Barbara J. Varhol. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Steven was the son of John Varhol and Margaret (Shulick) Varhol.

Steven was a carpenter and worked for LeBlanc Builders for 30 years before his retirement in 1999. He built houses throughout RI, and in recent years liked to say he had left his mark on the world with the homes and neighborhoods he helped bring into existence. He enjoyed gardening, playing the guitar, and spending time with his family. His love for family was shown by action, and he found joy in providing a helping hand wherever it was needed.

Besides his wife of 53 years, Steven leaves behind five children: Cindy Lancia and her husband, Mike Lancia of Warwick, RI, Sandra Maymon of Cranston, RI, Laurie Armando and her husband, Al Armando, of West Warwick, RI, Steven Varhol Jr., and his wife, Lora Varhol, of West Warwick, RI, and Edward Varhol and his wife, Suzanne Varhol of Charlestown, RI. Steven also leaves behind eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm in Avery Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield, RI. A funeral service will immediately follow at 6pm.
