Steven M. Skuce, 52, born and bred of Wakefield, passed away peacefully at South County Hospital, after a six-year battle fighting cancer. He is survived by his loving partner Dawn Russian and was the proud father of Chandra Skuce, both residents of Wakefield. Steve was the beloved son of Leah Skuce and the late Stephen Skuce, both of Wakefield as well. He also leaves behind two sisters and their children, Tammy Skuce-Buffery and Jeannie Skuce-Turner, both of Coventry. He grew up in Narragansett, where he could’ve been found riding dirt-bikes with his childhood friends or fishing and hunting throughout the local woods. Steve attended Narragansett High. He was known as a go-getter and produced S&S Painting Inc., in which he was self-employed for 16 years. Recently, he was a member of the South Kingstown Elks Club. Steve found joy in fishing, music of all genres, planting and gardening, as well as walks at Ninigret Park. He was proud to live in South County and could be found taking a drive down by the sea wall on any given day. He had a life-long goal to obtain a Harley and ride with his childhood friend like old times. But most importantly, Steve was an empath, a family man, the best “Pop” and a dear friend who will be missed greatly by many.
