Steven Dixon Hunt

Steven Dixon Hunt, 73, of Peacedale, RI passed away early on November 24th, 2022.

He was the beloved husband to Jacqueline (Folcarelli) Hunt for 51 years, the adored father of Daniel Hunt and wife Michelle of Wakefield, RI and daughter Amanda (Hunt) and husband Jeffery Banks of Charlestown, RI, and caring grandfather to Kryssy, Ashley and Jesse as well as one great-grandchild Ivy.

Steven was born July 16, 1949 to the late Fred and Margery (Caswell) Hunt. He was a Vietnam veteran and after being honorably discharged, started a career at General Dynamics (Electric Boat) in North Kingstown as an optical tool technician where he worked for 40 years before retiring.

This graceful, peaceful, funny soul was a faithful communicant of St. Francis of Assisi church in Wakefield, RI. In his retirement, he enjoyed relaxing on his front porch with his wife watching the birds and various wildlife. He was an avid lover of crosswords, comics, Marvel and DC universe, and building model ships. Steven also enjoyed playing cribbage with his wife every night (to whom he always lost).

Steven leaves behind his loving brothers and sisters; Deborah (Hunt) Watterson, Susan (Hunt) Shea, Fredrick "Ricky" Hunt and wife Kathye, Judith (Hunt) Mcauley and husband David, Dana (Hunt) Bour and husband Thomas, Sara Hunt, Victoria (Hunt) Dority, Robin (Hunt) Foreman and husband John, his loving sister in-law; Ann Marie Folcarelli-Monti, as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister; Nancy "Charlotte" (Hunt) Baton and husband William, and brother in-law; Kevin Watterson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, November 30th at 10 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield, RI. Burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Wakefield, RI. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 29th from 4-7 pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI.
