Stephen Joseph Iacuele

March 14, 1953 — April 26, 2014

Stephen J. Iacuele, 61, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 26th. He was born in Providence, the son of the late Norman and Dolores (Guinti) Iacuele, and moved to Narragansett in 1963. Mr. Iacuele was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and employed as a teacher, human services worker, and later a disc jockey. He was passionate about literature, music, and thoughtful observation. He enjoyed the beach, following sports (especially Brown University football), and reminiscing about Narragansett and the characters it produced in the 60s and 70s. Mr. Iacuele performed volunteer work at the St. Peters By The-Sea Food Pantry, and was an active member at St. Thomas More Church and its Mens Group. He is survived by two brothers, Gary Iacuele of Narragansett and Joseph Iacuele of Virginia; four sisters, Karen Farrell of South Kingstown, Evelyn Billeri of Connecticut, and Lynn Iacuele and Lori Gardiner, both of South Kingstown. Mr. Iacuele had one nephew and six nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday May 3rd at 9 am in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Friday May 2nd from 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peters By-the-Sea Food Pantry, 72 Central Street, Naragansett, RI 02882.
