Stephen J. Hume

Stephen J. Hume, 71, of South Pier Rd., Narragansett, died unexpectedly on Sunday June 19, 2011. He was the husband of Mary (Cinquegrana) Hume for forty-six years. Born in Jamestown, he was the son of the late Russell and Mary (Gorton) Hume. Mr. Hume was a United States Army Veteran. He worked as a foreman at Browne & Sharpe for over twenty five years before retiring. He enjoyed gardening and fishing, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren and family. Besides his wife he leaves his children, Steve Hume and his wife Ruth of Jacksonville, FL, Billy Hume and his wife Kana of Fayetteville, NC, Christine Cordice and her husband Jim of Wakefield, Russell Hume and his wife Jody of Charlestown; a sister Bertha Ring of Kingston and six grandchildren, Karen, Heather, Christopher, Steven, Kaitlyn and Nicholas. The funeral will be held Thursday June 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Visiting hours Wednesday June 22, 2011 from 5-8 PM.
