Stanwood L. Craig

October 23, 1936 — June 27, 2017

Stanwood L. Craig, 80 of Charlestown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tues, June 27. He was the loving husband of Marjorie C. (Adams) Craig. Born in Eastport, Maine, he was the son of the late James and Betty (Sullivan) Craig. Stan was a proud veteran from the US Air Force as well as the Coast Guard where his heart always was. While in the US Coast Guard as a marine engineman first class he received three conduct awards and The National Defense Service award. He worked at the Stone Cove Marina working on boat motors, after retiring he worked at Benny’s where he enjoyed helping people. In his spare time, he enjoyed building boat models and was proud to show them off. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving son Stanwood Raymond Craig; brother Gary Craig; sisters Kathy Lawrence and Betty Bailey. He was predeceased by his siblings Phillip, Raymond, James Craig, and Marilyn Trott. Family and friends are invited for a memorial service on Saturday July 8th at 11am in Perryville Bible Church, 220 Moonstone Beach Rd, Wakefield, RI 02879. Burial with military honors will be Monday, July 10th at 11:00 am in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans Association, 1 Capitol Hill, Providence, RI 02908.
