Sidney Conkling Maccormick

Sidney Conkling MacCormick of Schenectady, NY and Westport Harbor, MA, passed away on September 16, 2018 at the age of 85 after a long fought battle with Alzheimer's. She will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Catriona Burns (Michael) of San Francisco, CA; Malcolm MacCormick (Marci) of Fort Collins, CO; Jill Kelsall (Matt) of Avon, CO; and Robert MacCormick (Allison) of Norwich, VT, as well as her 8 grandchildren. An avid outdoorswoman, she enjoyed downhill and cross country skiing, including as an instructor for the blind, and fishing and lobstering from her boat. She was an active member at the Spindle Rock Club, Elephant Rock Beach Club and The Acoaxet Club. Sidney grew up in Olean, NY and spent many years in Schenectady and Westport Harbor. She travelled extensively in her life, including a year of University at La Sorbonne in Paris. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Association. Heartfelt thanks to her caregivers. Services will be private.
