Shirley M. Miller

Shirley M. Miller, 94, of Wakefield, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at home. She was the beloved wife of Benjamin W. Miller for 71 years. Born in Waltham, MA, she was a daughter of the late John and Annie (Howard) Matson. She graduated from Newton, MA High School and was a Dental Assistant in the Boston area as well as Wakefield. In her spare time she volunteered for the Junior Women’s Club of Wakefield., and spent time as a Sunday School Teacher, Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout leader. Besides her husband she leaves behind a son, Ronald Miller of Wakefield; four grandchildren, Matthew Miller and his wife Kerry, Natasha Miller, Ronald Miller, Jr., and Tara Miller; and a great granddaughter, Rose Jean Miller. She was the mother of the late Benjamin Miller, Jr. and Marsha Miller, and sister of the late Harry Bolter, Irene Bolter, Gladys Matson, and Audrey Matson. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family kindly requests memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 36105-9959.
