Shirley Douglas Loud

Shirley Douglas Loud, 85, of Wakefield, died Thursday. She was the wife of the late Richard Loud. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John and Hanoriah Douglas. Mrs. Loud was a graduate of Pawtucket East High School and Stoneleigh College in Rye New Hampshire. She enjoyed attending the South Kingstown Senior Center and was a member of the South County Junior Women’s Club. She is survived by two sons, Richard Loud of Warwick and Kenneth Loud of South Kingstown; a daughter, Susan Stoutenburgh of South Kingstown; three brothers, Kenneth Jr., James and Dwight Douglas, all of Pawtucket; two sisters, Gail Richard of Somerville, NJ and Karen Natal of North Providence; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Karen Maguire and niece of the late Kenneth & Regis Douglas. The funeral will be 8:45 AM Monday from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are Sunday 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of RI, 143 Main Street, Wakefield, RI 02879.
