Shirley Allen

Shirley Allen, 88, of Sarasota, Florida and formerly of Exeter, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully Monday, May 20th, 2024 at the Brookdale Palmer Rach Nursing Home. She was the loving wife to Charles Henry Allen III. Born in Nottingham, England, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Edith Adkin.

Shirley was full of life and could light up a room that she walked into. She and her husband Charles enjoyed camping together, especially on the coast of Maine. Shirley enjoyed being around people and spending time with her family. She had a love for the ocean, playing a good game of pool and singing, especially karaoke.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Erica Vieria and her husband Dan, Sue Gerety and her husband Mike, Sarah Jane Mount, Charles Henry Allen IV and his wife Sandy, two grandchildren, Jennifer Gerety and Heather Payson and her husband Shawn, a great grandson, Jason Thornton, her two sisters, Mary Madden and Pat Ryan, and a niece, Brenda Smythe. She was the mother of the late David Voce and Sheriann Collins.

Calling hours for Shirley will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 10 AM to 12 Noon in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, with a funeral home service to follow at 12. Burial will take place in the Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Exeter.
