Sheryll Dawn Houston

Sheryll Dawn (Loftes) Houston, 73, of Narragansett passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 with her loving husband Wayne of 52 years by her side. Born in Providence, the daughter of the late G. Warren and Lorena (Adamson) Loftes. In early childhood she lived in Davisville, RI, and then moved to Point Judith. She attended Narragansett Elementary School and graduated South Kingstown High School class of 1961. After high school she worked in New York City for Western Union. Two years later she returned home and married the love of her life. She was a clerk for the town of Narragansett for 21 years, as well as working for Weight Watchers as a leader and secretary for over 30 years and at the Church of the Ascension for 15 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Narragansett for many years as well as Rainbow Girls and Girl Scouts. Sheryll enjoyed her trips to Florida as a snow bird for many years. Her favorite thing was to watch NASCAR with her husband, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters Correne Donnelly and Lauren Beckelman; grandchildren Gunnar Beckelman and Joren Beckelman; and sisters Lynette Clifford and Marlane Jill Tucker. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 10:00am in First Baptist Church,305 Kingstown Rd Narragansett, RI. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Calling hours will be held Monday September 12 from 4-7pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home.
