Sean C. Mahoney

Sean Mahoney, 49, of West Kingston, passed away Monday January 27, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Annmarie (Madden) Mahoney; devoted father of Caitlin & Matthew Mahoney; son of the late E. Patricia & Michael J. Mahoney; brother of Michelle Covey of Homer, NY, Michael Mahoney of Merrimack NH, Teresa Marquez of Milton, NH, Mimi Holderby of Strafford, NH and the late Deborah Mahoney; uncle to many nieces and nephews and son in law of Marie Madden, West Kingston. Born in Winchester, Mass, Sean was raised in Rochester, NH. He worked his whole life in the masonry industry whether it be manufacturing, sales, or distribution. Sean lived the past 20 years in Rhode Island. He enjoyed boogie boarding the beaches, and hiking with his family. He loved hiking Mt. Washington, and NASCAR. He loved supporting his kids at swim meets and cheering them on at lifeguard games. No father could be prouder than Sean was of Caitlin and Matthew. He considered them his greatest accomplishment. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., Wakefield. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sean's name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute or the Mahoney children's education fund, c/o The Washington Trust Company.
