SAMUEL F. BACCHIOCCHI, 104, of Narragansett, RI went to live with the Lord on September 5, 2022. Sam was born of Italian immigrant parents, Nino Bacchiocchi & Angelina Bacchiocchi (Nosengo), in Derby,CT on November 1, 1917 and later moved Shelton. He worked at the local Fulton Markets before becoming a home developer with his family. He was married to the late Ruth M. Bacchiocchi (Lenahan). He was a wonderful husband and father of 5 – Kathy, Jim, Joan (late), Laura(late) and Beth (late), as well as a loving grandfather of 10 – Thayer, Heather, Sara, Emily, Jenny, Dominic, Michael, Andrew, Jenna and Julianne -- and great-grandfather to Jaden, Pearl, Andrew, Dominic and Arthur.
After Sam and Ruth moved to Narragansett, RI and Port St. Lucie, FL, Ruth was laid to rest. Sam shared many years with his companion, Mary in RI and FL. He enjoyed MANY years of fishing, his favorite pastime, on his own boat and in recent years, with his good buddy Ted Collins (late).
Sam was a devoted Yankee and Patriots fan and was even recognized by the New England Patriots after his 100th birthday! He was blessed to remain in his own home until he was 104, when he moved back to CT and lived with his son, Jim and daughter-in-law, Donna.
Sam will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends!
Visiting hours will be held on Friday September 16th, 11 am -12 pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI 02879. A funeral service will follow at 12 pm. Burial will be held in St. Francis Cemetery on George Schaeffer Street, South Kingstown, RI 02879.
