Ruth P. Jones

February 10, 1930 — March 2, 2024

Ruth P. Jones, 94, of Kingston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at South County Hospital. She was the wife of the late Alan Clark Jones. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Wood) Penlington.


A lifelong resident of Milford, CT, Ruth was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, knitter and loved to bake and travel. She was renowned for her hand knit sweaters and was affectionately known as the “hors d'oeuvre queen”.


She is survived by her three sons, Bruce Jones and his late wife Laurie of Warren, VT, David Jones and his wife Laura of Wakefield, RI and Scott Jones and his wife Christine of Branford, CT, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.


A memorial service for Ruth will be held Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at 10 AM in First United Church of Christ, Congregational, 34 West Main Street, Milford, CT 06460.
