Russell G. Spears

Russell G. Spears Sr., 92, of Charlestown, died Monday. He was the husband of the late Grace Babcock (Brown) Spears. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Edmund H. and Beatrice (Smith) Spears. Retiring early from Kenyon Piece & Dye, Mr. Spears became a Master Stone Mason whose body of work beautifies many landscapes around RI, CT and beyond. He was a seasoned woodsman, skillful hunter and talented guitarist. Mr. Spears was the patriarch of a large family including the late Russell G. Spears, Jr. Robin S. Spears, Craig B. Spears, Forrest C. Spears, Lake G. Spears, the late Lance P. Spears, Diana S. Mars, Holly K. Harris, Starr L. Mars, Melody B. Amado, Autumn Leaf Spears, Sky L. Spears and hosts of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grand’s. His Wake will be held Saturday 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
