Rosemary Bombard, 70, of Wakefield, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 4, 2022. She was the wife of William Bombard, Jr. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Mazza) Bowes. She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Ann (Bowes) Biekert and her brother Daniel Bowes. She had four stepchildren that she treated as her own children, William Bombard III and his husband Bob Belsher, Michael Bombard and his wife Terry, Mark Bombard and his wife Tiffany, and Cheryl Lavoie and her husband Jeff, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was a graduate of the St. Francis School of Nursing where she earned her RN degree. She also graduated from Eastern Connecticut University where she earned her bachelor’s degree.
After graduating from nursing school, she was employed as a nurse at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London. She then changed fields and worked in a psych unit at the state-run hospital in Nowich, CT, where she rose to the position Charge Nurse. She then shifted fields and joined the nursing education department at the state-run psych hospital (Connecticut Valley Hospital) in Middletown, CT

She was an avid reader, loved pink, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
