RoseMarie Sidoti (D’Eletto), 87, of Narragansett, RI died peacefully on November 1, 2023 at her home and surrounded by family after a 5 month battle with leukemia. She was the loving and devoted spouse of Eugene J. (Gene) Sidoti, M.D. for 63 years.
RoseMarie was born in the Bronx NY on January 9, 1936 to Albert and Elizabeth D’Eletto. She attended Evander Childs High School in the Bronx and Cochran School of Nursing St. John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, NY. She proudly became a Registered Nurse in 1955 and later obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Columbia University in 1960. In her early years of nursing, she worked at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center where she met her husband. In later years, after raising her family of five children, RoseMarie returned to work as a school nurse at New Rochelle High School in New Rochelle, NY.
RoseMarie settled down with her husband in Eastchester NY and dedicated herself to raising five children who were her pride and joy. Her devotion to her children was unparalleled and remained so throughout her life, especially as to her beloved daughter Marybeth and her family. RoseMarie moved to Narragansett upon Gene’s retirement in 2000, to be close to Marybeth and her family. They quickly became Rhode Islanders, and developed a strong and caring network of friends in their adopted home town.
RoseMarie was a woman of great faith. A former parishioner and active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe, NY, she joined Christ the King Parish in Kingston in 2000 and has been active in many ministries at the church including as a Stephen Minister. Her devotion to the Church brought her, and so many others, joy and fulfillment.
RoseMarie is survived by her sons Eugene, Jr. (Lanni) of Scottsdale AZ, Paul (Ariana) of Eastchester, NY, Mark (Pamela) of Greenlawn, NY, Peter (Robin) of Goshen, NY and Marybeth (Chris) of Kingston, RI. and her beloved sister Elizabeth (Robert) of Ft. She was a loving and devoted Nonna to her 15 grandchildren, Lea (James), Emily (Rob), Heather (Dave), Daniel (Caitlin), Matthew, Michael, Nicholas (Stephanie), Luke (Rose), Steven, Isabella, Elizabeth (Michael), Christa (Nikolai), Emma, Christopher and Grace, her special step-grandchildren Angela (Aaron), Stephen (Kylie), Nicholas and Christopher, and her three beautiful great-grandchildren Joey, Luca and Maggie.
She was predeceased by her beloved father and mother, Albert and Elizabeth (Torrente) D’Eletto, and her three beloved grandchildren Regina, Jenna and Nicole, all of whom she yearned to be with in heaven.
