Ronald L. Barrington

Ronald L. Barrington, 78, died Monday, December 29, 2014 at South County Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Loretta (Lathan) Barrington, who died in April of this year. Born in Wakefield, he was one of sixteen children to the late Clarence and Ruth (Edwards) Barrington. Mr. Barrington was a Police Officer of the Town of South Kingstown for over 24 years retiring in 1990. He was a United States Navy Vietnam Era Veteran. He is survived by three sons, David S. Barrington of New Canaan, CT, Douglas M. Barrington of Narragansett, and Donald L. Barrington of North Kingstown; six grandchildren, Kirby, Jake, Ryan, Liam, Mason and Julia; and three sisters, Virginia Woodmansee of Carolina, RI, Caroline Stanley of Georgia, and Marilyn Rice of Narragansett. A Funeral service will be held at 9:30 am Saturday in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are Friday 4-7 pm.
