South Kingstown * Picture Roland V. Fiore, 88, of Peace Dale and Indialantic, Florida, died peacefully at home on Friday, May 22, surrounded by his loving family. Roland was the beloved husband of the late Anna C. Fiore. They were married for 58 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Mollo) Fiore. Roland lived in South Kingstown for more than fifty years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He attended URI and Boston College. He was the founder and past president of South County Sand & Gravel, and a pioneering real estate developer whose projects include the Village at Worden's Pond and South County Hills. He was very much a part of his community, serving on the South Kingstown Town Council, several school building committees, and a number of business and charitable boards. An avid supporter of local sports teams, he loved to watch a good game of basketball. He was a long-time member of the Galilee Beach Club, the Quidnessett Country Club, the South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce, the R.I. Builders Association, and the R.I. affiliate of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association. He is survived by three daughters, Paula Fiore of St. Kitts, Lisa Fiore and her husband Nicholas Finamore of East Matunuck, and Anita Fiore and her husband David Antonelli of East Matunuck; two sons, Roland Fiore and his wife Holly of Wakefield and Anthony Fiore and his wife Christine of Narragansett; and eight grandchildren, Victoria Antonelli, David Antonelli, Lorenzo Finamore, Sophia Fiore, and Ella, Miles, Maxwell and Mia Fiore. Roland also is survived by his sister Dahlia Testa of Johnston and his brother Reynoldo Fiore of Wakefield. He was a brother of the late Philomena Tanzi and Susan, Alice, Joseph and Danny Fiore. Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial and a celebration of his life will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
