Robin H. Burrows-Mello, 60, passed away from ovarian cancer on Saturday, July 23rd surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Paul M. Mello; loving mother of Julie, Lauren and Anne, and a second mother to their partners Jarrett, Nate and Andy. She was also a second mother to Claire Ghan, who she loved dearly. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William and Jean E. (Bentley) Burrows. She leaves behind her sisters, Sandy and Pam, brother-in-law Gary, sister-in-laws Jan and Sue, their partners Drew and Dan as well as her beloved mother-in-law Norma Mello. She was also a loving Aunt to Kim, Amie and Kate. The many things that she did in her life can be summed up by simply saying she was always giving to others; as a mother, as a therapist and as a devoted friend to many. She spent 36 years in service helping others as a mental health counselor. She found joy in nature and loved summer days sailing with her husband. Her smile was brightest when spending time with her family, they were her everything. Robin had the ability to laugh at herself, but never at others. She was a gentle soul who was patient and kind to everyone who crossed her path. A funeral service and celebration of her life will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Kingston Congregational Church, Kingston, RI. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Thursday 4-7 p.m. at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice or an act of kindness in Robin’s spirit would be appreciated, as these signify who Robin was and how she led her life.
