Robert Wilson Smith

Robert Wilson Smith, 77 of Wakefield passed away peacefully Friday February 27th 2015. Husband of Terri Smith. Son of late Edward and Clara Smith. Graduate of Boston University. Mr. Smith was Principal of SK Junior High School for 28 years. RI Principal of the year in 1987 and in1988 he was National Distinguished principal. In 1990 he received the first RI Educators Award- The Miliken Award. He was Chairman of the RI Jr. High Sports Committee. The 1995 South Kingstown JR. High School year book was dedicated to him and in the 1997 South Kingstown High School yearbook was also dedicated to him. He leaves behind 4 children, Ward Smith, Christopher Smith, Jennifer Lataille, Rachel Clough. His brother Brian Smith and sister Suzanne Browning also survive him. He was the loving Grandfather of 10 and Great Grandfather of 2. Bob enjoyed sailing, golfing, story telling, and afternoons at Mariner Grille.
