It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Lionel Théroux, 91, who left us peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Robert, known to many as "Bob," was a devoted husband, father, Papa, and friend whose warmth and generous spirit touched countless lives.

Born in Plainfield, Connecticut, on June 22, 1934, he was a son of the late Joseph T. and Aurore (Corriveau) Theroux.

Bob was the beloved husband of his cherished wife, Dolly, with whom he shared 62 years of faithful marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love, commitment, and family; a partnership that stood as an enduring example to all who knew them.

A lifelong resident of Rhode Island, Bob lived a life defined by faithfulness, generosity, loyalty, and an unwavering devotion to his family. As a young man, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that helped shape the discipline, strength, and character that would guide him throughout his life.

For most of his career, Bob worked with Berger and Arnold Lumber, where he helped build homes throughout Rhode Island and on Block Island. His craftsmanship and dedication were evident in every project he undertook. He took special pride in building the family home in Charlestown; a place that became the heart of countless gatherings, celebrations, and cherished memories.

Bob's talents extended far beyond his profession. He generously shared his skills with his children, always ready to lend a hand on home projects, passing down not only his knowledge of the trade but also his strong work ethic and quiet determination. He found great joy in tending to his large garden, taking pride in providing for his family and bringing them together around the fruits of his labor.

He shared a special bond with his brother Joe, with whom he worked closely for many years. Their relationship was one of deep mutual respect, camaraderie, and enduring brotherly love.

Above all, Bob's greatest joy was his family. He was the steadfast patriarch-loving, present, and deeply invested in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He rarely missed a birthday, graduation, recital, play, or sporting event, offering unwavering support and encouragement. His boundless love and quiet strength shaped generations and will be remembered always.

Bob leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, faith, and family that will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his loving children: Joseph Théroux (Andrea) of Charlestown, Peter Théroux (Stephanie) of Saunderstown, Janice Théroux (Michael O'Grady) of South Kingstown, and Julie Daly (Paul) of Narragansett. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jonathan Théroux, Marie Candiotti, Robert Théroux, Gabriella Théroux, Nicolette Théroux, Ariana Silander, Phillip Théroux, Jack O'Grady, Katherine Daly, Kyle O'Grady, and Meghan Daly, along with four great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI 02879. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 15, at 10:00 AM at St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck Schoolhouse Road, Charlestown, RI 02879. Burial will be private.
