Robert O. Smith "Bob", 92, of Wakefield, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018. He was the husband of Diana W. (Wakefield) Smith for 67 years. Born in South Kingstown, a son of the late Fred W. Smith, Sr. and Elizabeth (Barber) Smith. Bob was the proprietor of Fred W. Smith, Inc. for many years before retiring. He was an Air Force Veteran serving in World War II. He was an avid antique auto collector and restorer; Bob along with his wife, Diana, produced antique auto shows for the South County Museum, Perryville Village and the South Kingstown Land Trust Barn; he was known as the "Chowder Master" for the Lions Annual Heritage Festival and proud owner of the 1703 Samuel E. Perry Grist Mill in Perryville. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter, Judith H. Smith of Wakefield; three grandchildren, Robert J. Kisilywicz, Scott M. Kisilywicz and his wife Melissa and Laura Morin and her husband Daniel; nine great-grandchildren, Jack, Thomas, Benjamin, Andrew, Ashley and Emily Kisilywicz, Nathan, Rylee and Rachel Morin and a sister, Carol Greene of Richmond. He was the father of the late Jill D. Ellsworth and brother of the late Raymond Smith, Fred W. Smith, Jr. and Hope Morin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at 2 pm in the Wakefield Baptist Church, 236 Main St. Wakefield. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Jill D. Ellsworth Scholarship Fund, Bryant University, 1150 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917.
