Robert J. Silva, 61, of 5 White Cap Road, Narragansett, Rhode Island died on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at his home. He is survived by Lucy (Isakson) Silva and was her beloved husband. He was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and was the eldest son of the late James and Elvira (Nunes) Silva. Robert was a retired Spanish teacher for the Fairfield Public School System in Fairfield, Connecticut where he taught for 35 years. After 28 years, Bob retired as Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army Reserves where he was activated during Desert Storm. Since 2004, he served as the Narragansett Harbor Master. Robert is also survived by his loving children; Michael R. Silva of Great Falls, Montana and Amy L. Harrington and her husband William of Pepperell, Massachusetts. Jack and Collin Harrington are his adoring grandchildren. Bob was the eldest brother to Richard J. Silva of Manville, Rhode Island and James J. Silva of North Attleboro, Massachusetts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Road in Narragansett, Rhode Island. Bob's burial will be private and visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
