Robert L. Shumaker

Robert L. Shumaker, 82, of Palm Bay, Florida, formerly of South Kingstown, Rhode Island, passed away Monday, February 21st at Palm Bay Hospital. He died peacefully surrounded by family. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly Nettleton and her husband Douglas of Charlestown, Rhode Island, his son Kelly Shumaker and his partner Tabitha of Apopka, Florida, and his sole grandson, Tyler Nettleton of Burlington, Vermont. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Donna Shumaker. Robert was born on January 11th, 1940, in Canton, Illinois, to Gordan Shumaker and Evelyn Williams. He was a First Class Signalman in the US Navy, retiring in April of 1976. He had many interests, including American made cars, anything tech related, and most of all, his two dogs, Sophia and Zoey. Burial will be held in New Fernwood Cemetery on Thursday, March 3rd at 11:00 am.
