Robert Everett Rice

Robert Everett Rice, 80, of Wakefield, died unexpectedly Monday at home. He was the husband of Mary (Carr) Rice. Born in North Kingstown, he was a son of the late Lascom and Anne (Gardiner) Rice. Mr. Rice was a machinist at Kenyon Piece Dye Works, retiring in 1991 after 35 years . Mr. Rice was an avid Red Sox fan and a Jazz enthusiast. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert S. Rice of Cranston; two daughters, Susan J. Day and Leslie A. Round, both of Scituate; two sisters, Emma Coleman of Coventry and Mildred Hammond of North Kingstown; and four grandchildren, Ryan and Nicole Day, Susan and Nicholas Round. He was the brother of the late Rose Banks, Anne Castellano, Eva Stedman, Lascom Rice, Jr. and Howard Rice. A Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 AM at the First Church of God, 209 Allen Avenue, Wakefield. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Wednesday 6-8 PM. Memorial donations maybe made to the First Church of God, 209 Allen Avenue, Wakefield, RI 02879.
