Robert True Reckling, 73, of Warwick died Monday, August 13, 2018 at Phillip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence Rhode Island. He was the son of the late Doris M. (Perry) Lacorbiniere and the late Clifford T. Reckling Jr. Robert was employed at the University of Rhode Island for 29 years, working his way up to Building Superintendent, and retiring in 2006. He was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe, and a direct descendent of King Tom Ninigret. Robert spent his youth growing up in Narragansett and attended South Kingstown High School where he graduated in 1965. He later bought a house in 1994 and moved to Warwick Rhode Island, where he has resided ever since. His interests included going to antique shops, visiting friends and neighbors, drawing, art work, and he loved animals. He was the brother of the late Regina Royal Reckling, being the last of his immediate family, whom he missed dearly. He especially missed his best friend of over 50 years whom he considered his adopted sister, the late Jo-Ann (Barber) Lepore. He is survived by a host of cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday, August 16th at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
