Robert G. Newbold

Robert G. Newbold, 53, passed away at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his family on Good Friday, March 29, 2013 after a short illness. Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of Raymond J. and Margaret (Prior) Newbold of Narragansett. An accomplished pianist, Robert graduated from Cranston East High School and received an Associate in Science Degree from the Community College of Rhode Island. Before moving to Narragansett, he worked as a volunteer in the store at Sparrows Point III, Warwick, RI. Besides his parents, he is survived by his four sisters and their spouses, Kathleen Ross and her husband Craig of Pawtucket, RI, Anne Epstein and her husband Richard of West Long Branch, NJ, Mary Brown and her husband Joel of Wakefield, RI, Patricia Haggerty and her husband John of Westerly, RI and five nieces, two nephews and one great–nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Rd., Narragansett. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Bristol. Visiting hours Monday, April 1, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
