Robert K. Neill, Sr., 80, of Wakefield, and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away Sunday, February 19th. He was the beloved husband of Nancy E. (Howard) Neill for 58 years. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late John B. and Thelma (Mann) Neill. Mr. Neill was employed by the Newman Crosby Steel Company for 30 years and then by the City of Pawtucket for ten years before retiring. He dedicated many years to the Darlington Braves Football/Cheerleading Youth Organization as coach and coordinator. He was instrumental in the creation of the DB Bingo, an organization to raise funds for youth participants to compete in state competitions. He was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s athletic events. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons and their wives, Robert Jr. and Robbin Neill of West Greenwich, David and Lisa Neill of Wakefield, and Todd and Sherri Neill of Wakefield; six grandchildren, whom he adored, Alyssa, Nicholas, Alexandera, Michael, Zachary, and Cameron; a sister and brother-in-law, Fay and Donald Jette of Cumberland; and a brother Donald Neill and his companion Patricia Baum of Charlestown. He was the brother of the late Alexander Neill, Dorothy Reilly, and John “Jack” Neill. Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Thursday 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., followed by a service at 2 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman St # 306, Providence, RI 02906.
