Robert Morel, aka Fisherman Bob Morel and Captain Bob Morel, 82, of South Kingstown, Rhode Island, passed away on Monday, September 14th. Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island to his loving parents, the late Alphonse Morel and Rita (Lamontagne) Bragaul. He is predeceased by his older brothers Armand Morel and Alphonse Morel Jr.

In 1962, he graduated from Taunton High School in Taunton, Massachusetts.

Bob spent his early years alongside his four siblings before he was drafted by the U S Army during the Vietnam War era. Fortunately, he was stationed in Germany. During the time of his service, he advanced to the rank of Sergeant where he was a proficient sharpshooter. He also served as a Military Policeman. Upon his return from the service, he began a long career with Ajax Construction where he worked up until retirement. Bob began with Ajax as a general foreman but eventually worked his way up to project manager. Outside of work, those who knew Bob, also know that he was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending his free time fishing, hunting and sport shooting.

Bob is survived by his sister's Diann Morel of NC and Gloria (Morel) Gendron of FL, as well as his nephews; Donald Morel wife Donna of RI, Richard Morel wife Eliana of CT, David Morel of CT, Kevin Gendron wife Stacey of CT, Heath Genereux of CT, Kevin Krankall wife Courtney of CT. He is also survived by nieces; Joanne (Morel) Gomez of RI/FL, Linda (Morel) Romano husband Alan of FL, Aleacia (Morel) French husband Ken of FL, Karen (Gendron) Amado husband William Jr. of RI, Victoria Protsko husband David of CT. and 9 great nephews, 12 great nieces, 6 great, great nephews, 9 great, great nieces, and 1 great great, great, nephew. He is also survived by friend, Julie Jussaume

Bob's family would like to thank his many friends and neighbors who were there to support him during his time of need. You helped in many ways, especially to brighten his days.

Bob was a very generous person with a big heart. He was quite the jokester where many who knew him were on the receiving end of his many jokes where they were the main characters. He loved it when they responded back in the same manner.

A memorial service will be held for Bob on Tuesday, September 22 at 11 am in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI 02879.
