Robert W. Luther, Sr.

Robert W. Luther, Sr. 84, of South Kingstown passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017. Born in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of the late Edwin S. and Mary (Kelley) Luther. Bob was a Senior Commercial Representative for Narragansett Electric for 33 years, retiring in 1993. He was a Providence College Alumni. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. In his retirement years he served as a US Coast Guard Auxiliary attending Boston Lighthouse as the relief lighthouse keeper. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club, Elks Club and also served as Commander of the Dusza Almeida VFW Post 2339. He leaves two daughters, Lori Luther and her husband Tony of Spring Hill FL, Linda Carpenter of Charlestown, RI and a son, Robert W. Luther, Jr. and his wife Robbin of Richmond. A granddaughter and a grandson. He was predeceased by his brothers Raymond and Edwin Luther and a sister Margaret Robillard. Burial will be private.
