Robert W. Jolie

Robert (Bob) W. Jolie, 79, of Cudjoe Key, FL and Wakefield, RI, passed away Saturday September 22nd. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Moseley) Jolie for 56 years. Born in Hartford, CT, he was a son of the late Raymond and Helen (Andrulot) Jolie. Besides his wife he is survived by two children, Lisa White and her husband Chip of Bolton, CT and Michael Jolie and his wife Penny of Denver, CO; as well as five grandchildren, Cameron and Haley White, Nicole, Josh, and Indie Jolie. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy in his youth. He worked for many years for Northeast Utilities in Hartford, ultimately retiring as a dispatcher. Bob had a passion for adventure and a gift for gab. He never met a stranger and everyone was his friend. Always a fan of the road less taken, their travels took he and his wife around to many corners of the world. He was truly a gypsy at heart. Bob was a life-long fisherman, a hobby he fell in love with as a young child and continued fishing to the day he died. He was an enthusiastic NASCAR Racing fan, and was active with many race teams. He was a member of the RI Commercial Rod & Reel Association, was past commodore of the Venture Out Boat Club in Florida, and he belonged to the Moose Club, and the South Kingstown Elks Lodge. He also was a baseball fan and loved watching the Boston Red Sox on television as well and anything with wheels. A Celebration of his life will be held at the South Kingstown Elks Lodge on Friday the 28th of September from 3pm to 7pm. The Elks is located at 30 Belmont Avenue, Wakefield, RI. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted and burial will be private.
