Robert N. Hazard, Sr., 70 of North Kingstown passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Kent County Hospital, surrounded by his family. Robert was born in South Kingstown on May 20, 1950 to his late parents Reginald Hazard Sr. and Pearl Stanton Hazard. Robert and his loving wife Wanda M. Walmsley Hazard of 55 years of marriage were both stricken by the COVID-19 pandemic. Robert is survived by his sons, Robert Hazard Jr. (wife Shannon), Juan Hazard, Christopher Hazard, Lauliston Robinson, and his niece who he raised as his daughter, Latayna Walmsley. In addition to his children, Robert is survived by 32 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters: Richard Hazard, Lorenzo Hazard, Caroline Perry, Priscilla Spiver, and Evangeline Delves. He was predeceased by his brothers Reginald Hazard Jr. and Mason Hazard; his sisters Blessing Bourne and Rachel Santos. Robert was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. He was a hardworking man, and over the years he worked various jobs to provide for his family. Robert was also a Hall of Famer in basketball for the State of Rhode Island. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Robert’s presence will sorely be missed and his loss is deeply felt. Visiting hours will be Friday, May 21, 2021 from 10am – 11am at Avery-Storti Funeral Home with a service immediately following at 11am. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery after funeral service.
