Robert Charles Giroux

Robert Charles Giroux, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Ruth “Carol” Giroux, for 55 years. Born in East Providence he was the son of the late Henry and Anna (Sullivan) Giroux. Robert served in the Air National Guard, a member of the 102D AC& W Sq., was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, retired from the New England Telephone Company after 34 years of service and a lifetime member of the IBEW. Besides his wife, Robert is survived by his children Deborah Prefontaine (Barry), Robert Giroux (Gail), Nancy Steere (Bradly) and grandchildren, Barry Prefontaine and Bethany Eichholz (Timothy), Gregory, Kelsey and Nicole Giroux, Sarah and Katie Steere. He was the brother of the late Marie Mullervy, Henry and Edward Giroux. The funeral will be 8:45 AM Saturday from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial with military honors will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Visiting hours are Friday 6-8 PM.
