Robert E. Coe

Robert Edwin Coe, 93, of Wakefield, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Scalabrini Villa in North Kingstown. He was the beloved husband of Jane (Capron) Coe for 70 years. Born in Bridgeport, CT, a son of the late Edwin and Alice (Kehew) Coe. Mr. Coe was a graduate of Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy class of 1941 and affiliated with the Merchant Marines for over 60 years. He was an avid sailor and enjoyed antique finishing. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Gregory Coe and his wife Kathleen of Wakefield; his daughter Leslie Weller and husband Craig of Medford, NJ; three grandchildren Gregory Coe II and his fiancé Heather Miller, Robert Weller and his wife Melissa and Kristin Weller and one great-grandchild Gregory Coe III. A committal service with military honors will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 11:00 am in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
