Robert E. Brown

Robert E. Brown, 83, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 at home. He was the husband of Carolyn (Pucella) Brown. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Everett Brown and Anna (Hess) Brown McCormack. Bob was a graduate of St. Raphael Academy class of 1949, Providence College, Our Lady of Providence Seminary, and Louvain University in Belgium where he was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest. While he was assigned a priest at St. Joseph Church in Pawtucket, Bob also taught at St. Raphael Academy and served at St. Joseph Church in Ashton, Christ the King in Kingston, St. Gregory in Warwick and St. Mary in Providence. He also served as chaplain at U.R.I. and RISD. He then was a Job Counselor for the Dept. of Labor and Training for 17 ½ years before retiring in 2002. Besides his wife he leaves a brother Barrie L. Brown and his wife Janet of Palm City, FL. He was brother of the late Everett Brown Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 4, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Rd., Kingston. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Raphael Academy, 123 Walcott Avenue, Pawtucket, RI 02904.
