Robert A. Anderson

Robert A. Anderson “Pa”, 81, father, grandfather, great grandfather and beloved friend of everyone he knew, passed away on Friday, October 16th while vacationing in Florida. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Baxter) Anderson. Born in Worcester, MA, he was a son of the late Wesley C. and Mabel (Peterson) Anderson. After graduating as a Mechanical Engineer from U.R.I., Mr. Anderson worked as an Engineer for U.S. Steel, then as Plant Manager for both Gorham Manufacturing and J & J Corrugated Box Co. before retiring. He enjoyed Friday Breakfast with his lifelong friends, Friday Couples Dinner, Tuesday Golf, Theatre by the Sea, boating, fishing and U.R.I. basketball games. His most treasured times were spending every possible moment with his family. He leaves three children, his son Jeffrey Anderson and his wife Elizabeth and their children, Abigail and Sarah; his son David Anderson and his wife Josee and David’s son Neal and Neal’s mother Mary Anderson; and his daughter, Laura Weindel and Greg Lisi and her three children Keith, Heather and Jamie; great grandchildren, Olivia and Rory; his brother, Irwin Anderson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.
