Robert E. Allen

Robert E. Allen 75, died unexpectedly on Wednesday. He was the beloved wife of the late Donna (Chisolm) Allen. Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of the late Louis and Helen (Pierce) Allen. Mr. Allen was employed for the State of Rhode Island for 37 years, working for the Fish & Game Department. He spent seven years at the Great Swamp and 30 years at the LaFayette Trout Hatchery. He will be remembered for his dedication and devotion to his family and friends. He is survived by two daughters ,Laurie Boyer of West Warwick and Becky Argo of Charlestown; two step-children, Truman Chisolm of Charlestown, SC and Lori Hughes of NY; two sisters, Vivian LaPointe of Maine and Mercy Maloney of Wisconsin; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Louis “Bud” Allen, William “Bill” Allen, Cliff Allen, Leonard Allen and Margaret Brown. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday 6-8 PM. Flowers welcome or a donation may be made to one’s charity of choice.
