Rita I. Vachon

Rita I. Vachon, 95, of Wakefield, passed away Wednesday at home. She was the wife of the late Walter Vachon. Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter do the late Antonio and Clara (Lecuyer) Faucher. Mrs. Vachon was the owner of Vachon Cake Decorating Arts & Supplies in Peace Dale for several years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the St. Francis Women’s Club and the Tuesday Quilting Group, She is survived by four children, Christopher Vachon of Wakefield, Renee Vachon McHale of Nashua, NH, Suzanne Briggs of Hopkinton, and Denise Vachon of Wakefield; a sister, Lorraine McNally of Peace Dale; and five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was the grandmother of the late Justin Briggs; and sister of the late Jeannette Anderson, Albert, Leo, Edward, and Rene Faucher A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday May 26th in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Thursday May 25th, 5-7 pm.
