Rita A. Santilli

October 8, 1935 — October 29, 2024

Rita Ann (Izzi) Santilli, 89, of Narragansett passed away with her family by her side on October 29th. Rita was the beloved wife of the late Anthony L. Santilli, they were married for 60 years. She was the daughter of the late Mario and Helen Izzi of Warwick.


Rita grew up in Warwick, RI and graduated from Lockwood High School. She attended Bryant College, majoring in business education and graduated in 1957. She taught business education at Coventry High School.


Rita’s most loved role was as a wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished her three sons, grandchildren and great grandson. Her thoughtful and saintly disposition made her loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed weekends with family and friends at Bonnet Shores Beach Club. She enjoyed winters at her residence on Singer Island, FL. She was the heart of the family and the center of the kitchen. Rita was beautiful inside and out and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.


She leaves her three lovingly devoted sons, Anthony L. Santilli Jr. (Randi), Thomas A. Santilli (Joy) and Peter A. Santilli (Susan). She leaves her seven grandchildren, Christopher, Peter, Jessica, Jake, Thomas, Julia and Rachael. She also leaves behind her great grandson Jameson Pearce, her sisters Eileen Izzi (Bruce Bryan) and Maria Izzi (the late Thomas Greene), her niece Dr. Helen M. Schilling and nephew Dr. Paul J. Schilling and her beloved friend Robin Thacker. She was predeceased by her sister Helen Izzi Schilling (Frank).


A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, November 8, 2024 at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, West Warwick, RI. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, West Warwick, RI. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
