Richard E. Zarlenga, 81, a South County resident for the past 23 years, died Tuesday. He was the beloved husband of Liselotte “Lee” (Hattenbach) Zarlenga. Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Anthony and Jeanette (Clapp) Zarlenga. Mr. Zarlenga was employed by MARK IV Division of Gulton Industries in East Greenwich for 26 years, until retiring. He served honorably in the US Navy, during the Korean Conflict. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, horseshoes, and playing pool. Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Pamela Brennan of Massachusetts, Rick Zarlenga of Florida, and Lori Zarlenga of West Warwick; a brother, Thomas Zarlenga of Coventry; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am Saturday in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are Friday 5-7 pm.
