Richard B. White, 77, of Narragansett, passed away Sunday. Born in Wakefield, he was a son of the late Herman K. and Frieda (Robinson) White. Mr. White worked at the Narragansett Police Department, a job he truly loved, retiring in 2008. He enjoyed reading and taking photographs as he walked around Narragansett. The White family would like to thank the Town of Narragansett for all of the kindness and compassion shown to Richard during his life. He is survived by a sister, Shirley A. Champlin of Narragansett; a brother Kirk A. White of Narragansett; four nephews, Mark Champlin of Richmond, Brian Champlin of Hope Valley, Blake Champlin of Narragansett, and Douglas White of Austin, TX; and a niece, Lori Butlett and her husband Kevin of Hunting Beach, CA. A Requiem Eucharist will be held at 10:30 am Friday at The Church of the Ascension, Wakefield. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Thursday, 4-7 pm.
