Richard F. Mccourt

Richard F. McCourt, of Narragansett 72, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013 at South County Hospital. He was the loving husband of Mariann (Gemma) McCourt for 48 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Eugene and Mildred (Smith) McCourt. Mr. McCourt was the manager of Ft. Wetherill State Park for many years before retiring. He also worked as a real estate agent in Providence and Narragansett for many years. He loved walking the beach and spending time in Galilee watching the boats go by. Besides his wife he leaves his daughters, Shannon McCourt Raymond of New York City and Courtney McCourt Woodruff of Narragansett; his cherished grandson, Dylan Richard Woodruff; a sister Jeanne Holmes of Greenville and a brother, Kevin McCourt of Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Rd., Narragansett. Visiting hours Monday 5-8 p.m. in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to St. Mary Star of the Sea Church.
