Richard Lee Parker

Richard Lee Parker, 81, of Wakefield passed peacefully July 28, 2013, beloved husband of Marilyn (Tyler) Parker for 58 years. He was the proud father of Wayne (Michelle) of Exeter, Gary (Natalie) of Narragansett, Michael (Judy) of Norfolk, VA and Jonathan, at home.Also, two fine grandchildren, Nicole and David (Melanie) and two great grandchildren, Alice and Harrison. His roots were in southern IL, son of Orie and Virginia Parker, brother Lawrence (Shirley),TX, sister Judy (Ron) Planck, CA and brother William (Sharon) NC. He served in the Army in Korea, got his degree from Parks Aeronautical College and joined the Navy to pursue his dream to fly, enjoying every aspect of his 20 year career as a naval aviator. A committal service will be held Thursday August 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter. Relatives and friends will gather just inside the cemetery entrance, please arrive by 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509,New York, NY 10018
