Richard E. Lamontagne

Richard E. Lamontagne, 81, of Narragansett, died Friday, November 23rd. He was the beloved husband of Irene A. (Melone) Lamontagne, for 36 years. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Lucien and Lillian (Leduc) Lamontagne. Mr. Lamontagne was a Mechanical Engineer in the construction business, and worked on projects in Europe and the Middle East. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Karen Dexter of East Providence, Joanne Jones of Barrington, and Donna Breting of Johnston; six grandchildren, one great-grandson; and a brother, Robert LaMontagne of New Jersey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday December 6th at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Southern RI, PO Box 458, Wakefield, RI 02880.
