Richard B. Keogh, 75, of Kingston, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 19. For 51 years, he was the loving husband of Carol (Radcliffe) Keogh. Born in Mapleville, RI, he was the son of the late Richard J. and Libbie M. (Jarvis) Keogh. He was a graduate of LaSalle Academy and Bryant College, earning his degree in business administration. Rich worked as a data processing teacher at Chariho Regional High School for 22 years, retiring in 1990. He served in the Army during the Korean War. In 1979, he was ordained a deacon in the Catholic Church. He first ministered at the Institute of Mental Health in Cranston, and was involved with nursing home ministry at South Bay Manor for the past 19 years. Rich also served as a sponsor in the RCIA program at Christ the King Church in Kingston and as an instructor at Our Lady of Peace in Narragansett. Rich loved to read, was an avid power walker and runner who completed several marathons, and a lifelong Red Sox fan who savored their recent World Series championships. He will be remembered and loved for his compassion, his sense of humor and his devotion to family, friends and his faith. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Mary K. Donilon of Riverside, James E. and Mary Ellen Keogh of Worcester, MA, Lisa and Robert Rae of Exeter, Moira K. and John McDonnell of Warwick; eight grandchildren, Rachel, Brendan, Kelsey, James P., Hannah, Andrew, Ellen, and Audra; two sisters, Lila M. Keogh and Janice Zangari, both of Smithfield; two brothers, Thomas Keogh, of Pittsburgh, PA, and F. Patrick Keogh of Johnston, and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5-8 PM at CHRIST THE KING CHURCH, Kingston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 AM in the church.
