Richard F. Dick Harris

Richard F. "Dick" Harris, 79, of Noel Ct., Wakefield, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011. He was the husband of Dorothy E. (Brown) Harris. Born in Boston, MA, Richard was a son of the late Ernest and Edith (Harrop) Harris. Richard was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He worked in sales for Brown & Sharpe for many years, before retiring. Richard was a devoted, loving and sensitive husband, father, and grandfather. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Richard Harris, Jr. and his wife Jona of Richmond and David Harris and his wife Tracy of Wakefield; “Papa” leaves four grandchildren, Jack and Gwen Harris, Astrid and Evan Harris; he also leaves two brothers, Clifford Harris and Robert Harris, and a sister, Beverly Souza. Richard will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM,Thursday at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are Wednesday, 5-8 PM.
