Richard F. Gee

Richard F. Gee, 94, of Wakefield, RI and Sebastian, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 8th, 2022. Born in Wakefield, RI on November 16th, 1927. Richard was married for 73 years to his beloved wife, Helen (Cook) Gee.

After graduating from South Kingstown High School, he served in the Merchant Marine and US Army where he was stationed in Japan. After his return, he worked for Franks Furniture and Appliance in Wakefield. “Dick” and Helen eventually owned and operated the business known as Franks Appliance and L.P. Gas Service. While working and raising his five children, he always enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending Sundays at the beach. Upon retirement, he moved to Sebastian, Florida, where he and his wife resided for 31 years. Richard and Helen fully enjoyed the retirement life of golfing, fishing, boating, and visits from family and friends.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Brian Gee and wife Debra of Sebastian, Florida, David Gee of Wakefield, Daughter-in-law Darcy Gee of Wakefield, Barry Gee and wife Kathleen of Wakefield, Steven Gee and wife Gretchen of Charlestown, Joanne MacLeod and husband Daniel of Kennebunk, Maine. Richard also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held for the family.

Dick will be laid to rest alongside his dear friend William R. “Bob” Clarke, at their request, with full military honors in The Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
