Richard G. Anderson, 86, died March 22, 2013 in Wakefield, Rhode Island. Born in 1927 in New York City to Edwin and Ruby Arthur Anderson. Survived by his wife Jeanne Murdy Anderson, daughters Christine Anderson, Alicia Conlon, Gail Anderson, Karen Hackett, son David Anderson, daughter-in-law Peggy Anderson, son-in-laws Doyle Daniel and Chuck Hackett, and ten grandchildren. He served in the Navy in WWII then attended Pace College, graduating Cum Laude in 1951. Richard later became Treasurer of the Old Dominion and the Bollingen Foundation, where he also enjoyed a role in managing the Publication Program, helping to fund culturally significant works. He was most proud of his accomplishments as Financial Officer for Planned Parenthood and Chief Financial Officer for the Alan Guttmacher Institute, the research and development division of Planned Parenthood. He was recognized as a financial expert in the management of not-for-profit organizations, highly regarded for his personal integrity, dedication and tireless efforts. He loved the ocean, fishing, and his prized boat September, named to celebrate the month of his wedding to Jeanne. He also enjoyed listening to Yankees games and opera, and attending the ballet and theatre. Service and burial private. Please omit flowers.
